In the Beginning!!!

Good morning everyone!!  Mic and I were looking through some old photos today since we finally joined the nineties and picked up a scanner.  I have so many I want to share with you here on Happy Sugar Baking Land, but I thought I'd start out with this little gem:

  

Impressive no?  Circa the 1980's, this is one of my earliest cakes I ever made!!  Looked like a tasty Thanksgiving treat for the family.  As you can tell, I had my early Wilton technique down and I think it was Betty Crocker vanilla mix.  Don't hold me to that one!  We all start somewhere, and this is where I began.  Kind of neat huh?

Hello December!!

So who's ready for the Holidays?  Yep, me neither!  If you're in the food biz, holidays of any variety tend to be busy and anything but a day off.  But, I made it through Thanksgiving and onward to Christmas I ride!  Mic and I love Christmas time and decorated the house the weekend before Thanksgiving even.  No presents under the tree yet though, I'm gonna have to talk to him about that.

What Christmas specials do you look forward to this time of year?  We always watch Love Actually and Mic loves anything to do with The Muppets.  Of course there is A Christmas Story!!  Who doesn't love that one!  Basically I'll watch any and all of them.  

On TV there was a bunch of Amazing Wedding Cakes episodes today and it looks like a bunch more Sunday and Monday as well and a few nearer Christmas day, so if you need to catch up, set the DVRs!!  Have a great holiday season everyone!!
