Hey everyone, husband Mic here! For those of you who don't know me, I am a big time hockey guy. I've been playing my whole life and have been a coach for nearly a decade now. So when I saw this little gem over on Yahoo! sports this morning, I knew I had to point it out.
The New York Islanders and their "official" cupcake? Cup cakes are quite frankly, getting too big. Reva and I were at a farmer's market last night and saw three different cupcake vendors all of whom said they were opening shops soon. Seriously people, cupcakes are about to reach their tipping point. And Cupcake Wars, don't get me started on that thing. The best competitor has yet to win on any of their episodes, so who knows what shenanigans are going on there. And since I'm pissing people off, owning a "cupcakery" does not qualify you as a pastry chef. But that is me, Mic, and my opinion.
Not to say there aren't great cupcake shops out there, because there are! If you're in Northern California, just over the Golden Gate Bridge into Marin County (my home county), head out to Mill Valley and visit Frosting on Blithedale Ave. So good!
So, check out the hockey and cupcakes story, it is a pretty interesting little business model.
Hmmmm
