Who here is in a Christmas/Holiday mood already? I know we are!! Hey everyone, Husband Mic here taking a break from trying to find that one burned out bulb on the pre-lit Christmas tree as I transfrom our house into a Holiday Wonderland! I've been pretty good, I get the urge to toss up the decorations right after Halloween, but I'm trying to be sly and bring it out slowly. But really, there's only like 42 days left and you've gotta enjoy them right? You also should take the time to enjoy Silly Cake News for this week!!
Our first slice of most, delicious pie goes to renowned chef and restaurantier Elizabeth Faulkner and her San Francisco based Citizen Cake. The original Hayes Valley location (near the Opera House) was a favorite with theater goers featuring tasty sweets and lunch and dinner entrees, but it closed way back in February! Completely rebuilding the shop and the menu, looks like Citizen Cake will be reborn on Fillmore this weekend. It's a much smaller place, but they will still have all their cupcakes etc. and pizzas and good eats, so check out the new digs SF and congrats to the crew for finally getting it up and operating in these hard times.
Okay, that wasn't silly enough for you? Well then, second slice, try out CakeDogg vs. PresentCat!!!! DO IT!!!! What just happened to you?!! There was music and bright flashing colors and a cute little doggie spewing pieces of cake out of his mouth!!! OMG, the cuteness level is melting my computer!!! Thanks to Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O'Malley for the heads up on that one;)
Quickly moving on to our third slice, we have an interesting little bit of diet news. Turns out, eating nothing but sweets and potato chips cane shave 27 pounds off your frame!! Mark Haub, a nutritionist and professor at Kansas State went on a ten week diet where a full two thirds of his daily food intake was Twinkies, Doritos, and cookies! He also lowered his caloric intake and the whole thing was a way to prove a point about the importance of calories in a weight loss plan. Is it healthy, probably not, but don't ever laugh at the power of the Twinkie again!!
Short and sweet this week my friends. I've got tinsel to uh... "tinse?" Have a great weekend and don't forget that the season finale of Amazing Wedding Cakes is this Sunday at 10pm!! We go bright and fun with a Bollywood theme so tune in and then be back here for our blog on Monday. Oh, and one last time, just for fun....
I am reading your blog for the first time and I must say your approach is different. What sets bloggers apart is how they connect to their readers; you really connected with me. Great post!
