Husband Mic here with this week's Silly Cake News! Okay, so does anyone here watch 30 Rock? I can't find a video for just this moment to link here, but there was a scene where Jack and Liz are talking in her office and it went like this:
Jack
That is the smartest thing you've ever said Lemon.

Oh yeah, how about three years ago when I said
television needed more shows about cake!
I snorted it was so funny. Seriously, I even wrote an article for Real TV Addict about the avalanche of cake shows on television. It is actually pretty ridiculous, and that is coming from someone on a cake show! However, the TV landscape will be shy at least one show soon as Food Network's Ace of Cakes has announced they will be wrapping up their run with season 10.
While the final episode won't air for quite some time, I did want to offer up our first slice of SCN today to the Charm City gang and wish them a heartfelt congrats on what they accomplished during the show's production. 116 episodes is not an easy task, and while I admit my jealousy of your budget and the power of your network, we all think what you did was impressive and thank you for waving the flag of cake with flare and fun. Merci Beaucoup wishes you all the best in your continuing adventures and in case anyone was wondering, yes, the "Ace of Cakes" book is totally worth picking up!
Our second slice on this day after Turkey Day might be a little late for all you traveling via airplane to your family dinner, but just so you know in the future, the TSA is okay with bringing cake on the airplane!! Courtesy of a story from ABC News in Denver, we now know that those "hands-on" security screeners are 100% behind baked goods as your carry on but they may be subject to some "additional screening." Why do I feel that might involve a fork and a glass of milk?
Our next slice.... wait, wait. It's Thanksgiving! Who wants to count slices, let's just eat! Here's some super cool Turkey Day cakes I found online. Take a gander and enjoy the rest of your Holiday weekend everyone. Hope you found some great Black Friday deals (rumors of discounted Cricut Cake machines abound!). From all of us at Merci Beaccoup, we hope you had a terrific Thanksgiving! Gobble Gobble!!
Anytime you toss a squirrel and some mushrooms on a cake, I will post it! Courtesy of Dream of Cake:
