Cakes are always high on the list of must have photographic evidence and my family was no exception. If there was a party, there was a cake. If there was a cake, there is a picture of it somewhere! Probably on DISC film!! Anyone? DISC cameras? My mom owned like 20 of them.
Anyhoo, since I shared some photos recently of Reva's Sweet 16 party, I thought it only fair to pull up a couple from my college graduation celebration circa 19 something or other. I recently went back to the campus at Sonoma State University with Reva and had a look around. I'm excited to say our niece will be attending there in the Fall and it has made me a proud uncle indeed. My aunt also went there, so it is turning out to be a nice little circle of higher education. It's a great school and I'm happy to have gone there.... but I was also happy to get out!! Here's the cake shots to prove it.
And in the tradition of my mother, there was also a secondary dessert. Seriously, there has been Thanksgivings with three kinds of pie, cheesecake, and a regular cake... for about seven people!! Thankfully this party only had two. Where the cake came from, who remembers?!
What's great about the close up shot is that clearly my Mom forgot to get her pic before I posed for the one up there. You can see the cut marks on the left side!!
Kind of looks like a classic Cake Wreck waiting to happen, doesn't it? That message sure could've been piped a little more in the center! Oh well, I'm sure it was delicious, but 13 years have passed so my memory is fuzzy;) Now, where can I find my high school graduation.....
